The city council voted to appoint Theresa Goodness as a member of the Jefferson County Historical Commission to fill the unexpired term of Jessie Davis.

The term expires September 30, 2019.

The city council voted to authorize the city manager to execute an agreement with Conterra Networks for the placement of fiber optic in public right-of-way.

Conterra Networks requested to route 1,964 feet of fiber optic cable across the public right-of-way of Neches Street, Fannin Street, Crockett Street and Bowie Street. The company will pay the city an initial application fee of $500 and an annual fee of $3,437.

The city council voted to award a contract to Schaumberg & Polk, Inc. for professional engineering services related to sewer lift station repairs related to damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Schaumberg & Polk will provide basic services for a fee of $391,920 and special services for $236,658. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will cover 90 percent of the fees, with the remaining fees to be funded by other grants, or the water utilities fund.
