Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include Gabriel Royal: The Underground Cello Project in Galveston and “Dixie Swim Club” in Dickinson.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present Gabriel Royal: The Underground Cello Project in concert on Saturday at 8 p.m.

“Royal’s journey from art teacher to modern chamber pop composer-performer actually began as a fun diversion with friends,” said a news release. “His sensual singing voice and sonorous cello accompaniment was developed while he played and sang in the New York subways.” News Release

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson will kick off its production of “Dixie Swim Club” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through November 18.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host Animaniacs in Concert on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Miller Outdoor Theatre will also host A Musical Salute to Veterans on Saturday at 7 p.m.

College of the Mainland Community Theatre in Texas City continues its production of “Noises Off” this week.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through November 18.

Beaumont Community Players wraps up with “Calendar Girls” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 730 p.m. at the Jerry L. McMillan Studio Theatre.

Upcoming performances include “Miracle on 34th Street” opening November 30 at Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay, and “Beauty and the Beast”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars and opening December 8 at the Hobby Center in Houston.
