Jefferson County Commissioners Court

Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to receive and file the executed articles of agreement with the Jefferson County Deputy Constables Association.

The agreement the result of collective bargaining efforts for the county’s deputy constables for the period of October 22, 2018 through September 30, 2022.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding an interlocal agreement with the City of Nederland and the Nederland Economic Development Corporation for the construction of infrastructure for airport development.

Nederland had annexed property within the grounds of the Jack Brooks Regional Airport in 2010. Infrastructure is being built to accommodate commercial development of the property, including drainage, water improvements, deceleration lanes for entrance to a new access road off Highway 69 and sewer improvements, totaling $2.6 million. The Nederland Economic Development Corporation has agreed to provide funding for the infrastructure improvements.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding adoption of a resolution amending the Property Assessed Clean Energy Act Program for Jefferson County.

The city commission voted unanimously to approve specifications for an invitation to bid for repairs to the Ben J. Rogers Visitors Center related to damages caused during Hurricane Harvey.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a $57,000 contract with Sullivan Advertising & Design for the firm to serve as marketing communications agency for the Jack Brooks Regional Airport.
