Opera Star Performs With The Brazosport Symphony Orchestra

Clute, Texas - The Brazosport Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform with mezzo soprano and local singing hero Adriana Zabala Saturday November 10, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Clarion, located on the campus of Brazosport College. Saturday’s Performance

Ms. Zabala will perform a wide variety of repertoire with BSO: Voi Che Sapete and Non so Piu Cosa Son from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Dream With Me (Bernstein), Romanza de Maria la O" from Maria la O  (Lecuona), and Besame Mucho (Velasquez) as well as several of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances.

Ms. Zabala performs regularly with symphony orchestras across the USA and overseas including The Florentine Opera, the Minnesota Opera, and the Nashville Opera to name just a few. Her performances have inspired great reviews by The Wall Street Journal, LA Times, and Opera News On Line.

About Adriana Zabala

Ms. Zabala is a member of the voice faculty at the University of Minnesota, where in addition to her studio, she teaches graduate vocal literature, administers a program of collaboration between the Minnesota Opera and the University of Minnesota, teaches a Freshman Seminar called Shakespeare in Film and Music, and a May Session Global Seminar, Vive les Arts!, in Paris. “We are very fortunate to have an artist and performer of Adriana Zabala’s stature perform with us here,” said Gary Rodgers, president of the BSO Council. “There is no substitute for hearing a voice like this, to appreciate it fully it has to be heard live and in person.”
