Seabrook City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, an economic development project designation for WMF Investments, Inc. and 3300 Hwy 146, LLC, doing business as Retail at the Commons, and approval of expenditures by the Seabrook Economic Development Corporation for promotion of new business for construction of two new retail structures.

The developers are planning two build two buildings, of 14,300 square feet each, with an additional 1,000 square foot patio for each structure.

The buildings will value approximately $10 million after completion. The developers have requested $64,162 from the Seabrook EDC for reimbursement of building permit fees and impact fees.

The city council voted to approve an economic development agreement between the Seabrook EDC and Clay Cat Studio for the construction of improvements for a retail shop seeking reimbursement of building permit fees, in an amount not to exceed $5,075.

The city council held discussion to receive a post-event report for the 2018 Celebration Seabrook event and vision and direction for the 2019 event.

The city council praised LeaAnn Petersen for her work on the celebration, and discussed additions to the festival.

The city council also discussed the city's ordinance prohibiting food trucks in Seabrook. The city council directed staff to encourage any interested parties to bring a development plan forward for consideration of a food truck pilot program.
