Friendswood City Council on Monday voted unanimously to award a $335,530 contract to Tandem Services, LLC for a new restroom and a pavilion at Old City Park.

The city council voted unanimously to approve appointments and reappointments to various boards and committees, including:

  • Reappointment of Darrell Fales to the 4th of July Steering Committee
  • Reappointment of Larry Collison to the Investment Committee
  • Appointment of Betty Moreno, and reappointment of Kaye Corey, Paul Marx, David Montz, Sherry Goen, Brandee Fernandez, Mary Giles-Wise and Leslie Peralta to the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Committee
  • Appointment of David O'Brien, promoting of Vickie Hefner to a regular member, appointment of Charlene Mizener as an alternate member and reappointment of Nancy Mastrofranceso, Dorothy Montz and Dennis Rundell, as well as reappointment of Yolanda Robles to the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee

The city council voted unanimously to approve a $15,000 contract with the Friendswood Historical Society for the maintenance and preservation of historical sites in the city.

The city council voted unanimously to designate Lieutenant Matthew Wise as the local rabies control authority.

The city council voted 5-2, with Sally Branson and Mayor Mike Foreman opposed, to table action regarding a contract with Simple Recycling.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
