Washington D.C.
Dr. Babin Thanks Voters for Election to Third Term in Congress
Press Release
Wednesday, November 07, 2018

WOODVILLE, TX – U.S. Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement after securing a third term in office with 160,592 of the 221,078 votes cast in 1,198 precincts and boxes across the district.

"Thank you to the people of Southeast Texas for so soundly electing me to a third term in Washington. It is a great honor representing you in the halls of Congress, and I will continue waking up every morning energized to fight for your interests. Regardless of who holds the Speaker's gavel, my priorities will remain fighting for an immigration system prioritizing the safety and well-being of American citizens, reforming our broken healthcare system, promoting NASA and Johnson Space Center's critical mission, continuing our Hurricane Harvey recovery, and advocating for a pro-growth agenda to continue our economic progress. I am excited to get back to work.

"In the coming weeks, Congress must address important issues, including the funding of President Trump's border wall—among the highest of priorities for me and the people of our district. Our conference must also have deliberations on the appropriate leadership to propel us through the next two years to the 2020 election. We fought a historic onslaught of money during the midterm elections, including millions in outside money which flowed into Texas, and there will be no letup soon. It is more important than ever we lock arms with those we represent and move forward the agenda they care about. I look forward to making the case over the next two years to continue serving them as I work with my colleagues to secure and protect the blessings of liberty for the people of our republic.

"Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this election, and I will work to faithfully represent you in our nation's capital.
