BEAUMONT, TEXAS — The Port of Beaumont recently hired Brandon Bergeron, P.E., as Director of Engineering. Prior to joining the Port, Bergeron was the Engineering Manager for Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. He has 15 years of experience as an engineering consultant and project manager, having worked on a variety of marine terminal projects for public ports and private industry across the Gulf Coast.

As Director of Engineering, Bergeron will manage, develop, coordinate and administer port capital expansion and maintenance programs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting process and assist in overall port master planning.

“With more than $694 million in planned capital improvement projects at the Port of Beaumont, it is more important than ever to have direct access to a knowledgeable, experienced engineer who is familiar with the unique needs of the Port,” says Port Director Chris Fisher. “Brandon brings with him a wealth of knowledge and has already proven to be a tremendous asset to the team.”

Bergeron graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. After graduation, he worked in the New Orleans area as an engineering consultant, overseeing structural inspection services and marine terminal design.

From October 2006 to August 2018, Bergeron oversaw numerous large-scale projects for Lanier & Associates in Beaumont, working as a project engineer and project manager. While employed by Lanier, Bergeron earned his professional engineering license, and eventually worked his way up to become the company’s Engineering Manager for its Beaumont Civil and Structural Engineering Group. Bergeron’s responsibilities as Engineering Manager included leading a team of engineers and design staff and ensuring all quality and standards were met on public and private projects.

Bergeron, who is a registered professional engineer in both Texas and Louisiana, has more than 12 years of experience working as a consultant on a variety of projects at the Port of Beaumont.

“After having worked with the Port of Beaumont for many years as a consultant, I’m glad to become a part of this team and I appreciate the opportunity to work closely with the Port staff, Commissioners, and local contractors to continue strategically expanding and improving the Port’s ability to serve this region and our nation,” says Bergeron.
