BEAUMONT, TEXAS -- The Port of Beaumont is proud to announce Sade Chick was recently promoted to Corporate Affairs Manager. In her new role, Chick will oversee government and public relations as well as grant programs. She will also work on marketing and economic development initiatives.

Chick, who was hired at the Port in 2017 as Executive Assistant to the Port Director, has 12 years of experience in marketing, communications and public relations.

She earned her master’s degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 2011. The Maine native turned Texan moved to Beaumont in 2013.

She came to the Port from the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, where Chick was Vice President of Economic Development for the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation and liaison for the Regional Economic Development Initiative, which serves Jefferson, Hardin and Orange counties.

Chick is a member of numerous boards, including the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, Retired & Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council, the United Way of Beaumont and North Jefferson County, Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization, and Slow Food Beaumont.

Chick and her husband, Ethan, reside in Beaumont. They have one daughter, Charli.

“The Port of Beaumont has emerged as one of the top ports in the nation, and I look forward to playing a role in the incredible growth our region is poised to experience,” said Chick.

Calling her a catalyst for growth and development, Port Director Chris Fisher praised Chick for her recent work in securing $10 million in grants.

“Sade has been and will continue to be instrumental in the success of the Port of Beaumont,” said Fisher. “Her efforts in our grant and public relations programs have been exemplary. She is a bright spot and a valued member of the Port family.”
