Brazoria County
Pearland City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, November 13, 2018

Pearland City Council on Monday voted to approve the purchase of one aerial platform truck and one pumper truck in the amount of $2,298,921.

The trucks will be purchased from Siddons-Martin Emergency Group through an interlocal cooperative pricing arrangement with the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The units will be housed at Fire Station No. 8, which is being built in the coming months.

The city council postponed action regarding an amendment to the city's Comprehensive Financial Management Policy Statements to enhance the city's long-term goal of maintaining fiscal health and sustainability.
The city council voted 5-0, with Trent Perez not present at the time of the vote, to approve a final change order with Reddico Construction Company, in the amount of $58,984, associated with the Hughes Ranch Road Waterline Project.

The city council voted 5-1, with Derrick Reed opposed, in favor of amending the Lake Park Planned Development zoning district to change sign regulations in the development. The item required a super-majority vote due to receiving a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission to deny the amendment. Therefore, the item failed.

The city council voted 5-0-1, with Perez abstaining, to take action as discussed in closed session regarding the sale, lease, or exchange of proeprty.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Gary Moore was absent. Agenda
