Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to amend the city's Code of Ordinances regarding speed limits and school zones.

The amendment is to correct several errors in the ordinance and add a school zone for the Bob Hope School on Park North Drive.

The zones are set to be active 30 minutes prior to the first activity of the day and extend 15 minutes past the first bell. In the afternoon school zones are active 15 minutes prior to the closing bell and for 30 minutes after the closing bell.

The city council voted to establish speed limits on Northwest Parkway and Pointe Parkway.

The city council voted to approve a ground lease agreement with SET Aviation, LLC for property located at the Beaumont Municipal Airport.

The city received a request from the company to lease property at the airport for construction of a personal aircraft storage hangar.

The city council voted to approve an annual agreement with Capital Edge Advocacy, Inc. for services as the city's Washington assistant.

The contract remains at the rate of $68,400 per year, with a maximum of $4,000 in reimbursable expenses.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Council Member Robin Mouton absent. Agenda
