Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve the creation of Emergency Services District No. 4.

The item was approved with amendments. The creation of the district was approved by voters in the November 6 General Election. The district will be located within the City of Pearland's extraterritorial jurisdiction.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Bill Brummett, Keith Bonner, Jack Callaway, Chad Thuman and Caye Hauser to the Emergency Services District No. 4 Board of Commissioners.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve the creation of Emergency Services District No. 5.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Richard G. Ghiselin, III, David Haynes, Brian Reagan, Leshan Jayasekara and Daryl Irby to the Emergency Services District No. 5 Board of Commissioners.

The district is also located within the City of Pearland's extraterritorial jurisdiction.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation congratulating St. John's Lodge No. 5 on its 180th anniversary. Resolution

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint members to the Historical Commission Committee for a term beginning January 1, 2019 and ending December 31, 2020. Members are Mark Andrus, Shari Boykin, Janice Edwards, Doris Follett, James Glover, Jackie Haynes, Roy (Randy) Hopkins, William (Scott) Leopold, Ronald Livingston, Delores Martin, Kathy Mattes, Ron McCulley, William (Bill) McDaniel, Neal McLain, Jamie Murry, Kaye Murray, Sandra Pollan, Robby Roden, Flem Rogers, Max Royalty, Tom Stansel, Emma Jean Tanner, and Ginger Tumlinson.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Judy Zavalla to the Children's Protective Services Board.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Frank Goodoff to the Children's Protective Services Board.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Sharon Wilkerson and JoAnn Fuchs to the Library Board.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to grant a modification to the economic development agreement with Chocolate Bayou Wind I, LLC for the development of a renewable energy project using a wind-powered electric generating facility.

The modifications include delaying the start date of construction from December 31, 2018 to June 1, 2020, and to reduce the number of wind turbines from 22-63 to 17-60. The reduction reflected advances in technology to allow an increased capacity per turbine.

The commissioners court took no action regarding a resolution concerning Gladieux Metals Recycling, LLC. The item was pulled from the agenda.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the payment of $35,000 to the Lenis Law Group as a settlement of claims in the matter of Wilbert Lima, et al vs. Charles Wagner, et al, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a lease agreement for the Library Department to lease property at 912 North Velasco Street from CHA, Inc. as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court took no action on any other items discussed in closed session.
