Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6300 Market Street
News Release
Friday, November 30, 2018
A woman critically injured in a crash at 6300 Market Street about 6 a.m. on October 16 has died.
The identity of the victim, 65, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Northeast Patrol Officer C. Virgen reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by the driver of a gold Chevrolet Cavalier traveling westbound on Market Street. Paramedics transported the woman to St. Joseph Medical Center where doctors pronounced her deceased on November 16.
A preliminary investigation determined the pedestrian was at fault in the crash. The male driver, 54, remained at the scene and was subsequently detained for driving with a suspended license.
The investigation is continuing.
