News Release
Friday, November 30, 2018

Community drivers are advised that the Texas Department of Transportation will be completing a major construction project beginning Friday, November 30 at 9PM which will require closures on State Highway 225 and Independence Parkway. The construction will continue until 5AM on Monday, December 3.

According to TxDOT Public Information Officer Deidrea George, all lanes of State Highway 225 will be closed from East Boulevard to Miller Cut Off Road. All traffic will be diverted to the feeder roads on either side of the highway.

During the closure, repairs will be performed on Independence Parkway. As such, the Independence Parkway overpass will be closed between the traffic signals on the north and south sides. The feeder roads will remain open in both directions, and should be used to clear this construction area before re-entering SH 225.

“While we work on the Independence Parkway overpass, we are closing all lanes of State Highway 225 passing beneath that roadway for all drivers’ safety,” George said.
