This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “Beauty and the Beast”, in Houston, and “All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914” in Galveston.

Theatre Under The Stars in Houston will debut “Beauty and the Beast” on Saturday 2 p.m. at The Hobby Center. The show runs through December 23.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present “All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914” on Sunday at 4 p.m.

This performance showcases the powerful historic event and astounding moment during World War I when –together – the Allied forces and German soldiers laid down their weapons to celebrate Christmas Day, 1914,” said a news release. “Together, they shared food and drink, sang carols and played soccer.” News Release

Beaumont Community Players continues its production of “Scrooge: The Musical” this week, with performances on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. The show runs through December 16.

Beaumont Community Players also continues its production of “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some)” this week.

Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The show runs through December 15.

Clear Lake Community Theatre in Nassau Bay continues its production of “Miracle on 34th Street” this week.

Performances are on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through December 16.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson kicks off its production of “Annie” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through December 16.

Main Street Theater in Houston continues its production of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” this week.

Performances this week are on Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through December 23.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its traditional production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.

Performances are on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through December 30.

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company wraps up its production of “Why Torture is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them” this week, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m.

Upcoming performances include The Oak Ridge Boys in concert January 19-20 at The Grand 1894 Opera House, and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, opening January 24 at College of the Mainland Community Theatre in Texas City.
