Pearland City Council

Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to authorize the Lower Kirby Pearland Management District to issue and sell bonds in the amount of $3 million for roadway and storm drainage projects.

The district plans to fund the extension of North Spectrum Boulevard from Kirby Drive to the Texas Department of Transportation ditch, and install a traffic signal on Kirby Drive at North Spectrum Boulevard.

The city council voted unanimously to award a $482,657 contract to Magna Flow Environmental for sludge transfer, dewatering and lift station cleaning services.

The city council voted unanimously to award a $350,000 contract to Sprint Waste Services, LP for dewatered bio-solids disposal services.

The city council voted 3-4, with only Woody Owens, Trent Perez and Adrian Hernandez voting in favor of approval, to deny a motion to award a contract to Johnston, LLC for facilities assessment services for 33 city building facilities.

The city council voted 6-1, with Derrick Reed opposed, to extend initial call response for fire protection and emergency medical services, on a temporary basis, for portions of the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction in Brazoria County Emergency Service Districts No. 4 and No. 5.

The city council voted 6-1, with Reed opposed, to terminate initial call response for fire protection and emergency medical services for the portion of the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction in Harris County.

The city council took no action resulting from closed session discussions regarding advice on legal matters.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
