by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, December 11, 2018

The Port of Orange Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to accept Port Director and CEO Gene Bouillion's letter of retirement, effective March 1.

Bouillion will step down in March, subject to a replacement taking over the top staff position. The item was discussed in closed session.

No action was taken on any other items discussed in closed session.

The board voted unanimously to accept the audit report as presented by the firm of Keri Michutka. The port received a clean audit opinion of its financial statements for FY2018.

The board voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, a disaster pay policy for employees. Employees who are sent home due to a disaster receive single-time pay. Those who are called back in to work during a disaster receive double-time pay.

The board voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Keith Wallace to serve as the port's representative on the Southeast Texas Foreign Trade Zone.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
