JUDGE-ELECT LINA HIDALGO INVITES THE PUBLIC TO COUNTY INAUGURATION CEREMONY

The public event will take place at NRG Center starting at 11:30 AM on January 1

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - Judge-Elect Lina Hidalgo is inviting the public to attend the January 1, 2019 inaugural ceremony for newly elected Harris County officials as part of her commitment to creating an open, transparent government.

“It’s important to me that this event is open to the public. We made history in Harris County on November 6th by electing a talented group of individuals who reflect the people and communities we serve. That would not have been possible without the support of the residents of Harris County,” said Judge-Elect Hidalgo.

Doors will open to the public at 11:30 AM, and the event will feature a performance from the Phillip Hall Singers.

By law, the Judge-Elect is required to be sworn in at 12:01  AM. She will be sworn in at the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management. Members of the media are invited and will need to RSVP with Deshundra Jefferson or Laura Rodriguez.

What: Harris County Inauguration Ceremony

When: Tuesday, January 1st; Doors open to the public at 11:30 AM, but press is welcome to come at 11:00 AM for set-up. Event is free to the public.

Where: 1 NRG Park (Gate 10 near Kirby & McNee)

Special Guests: Pastor Rudy Rasmus, Maria Trevino-Rodriguez, Judge Robert K. Schaffer, Hon. Vanessa Gilmore, and the Phillip Hall Singers.
