The third annual “Felines, Football and FUN” Cat Show is just around the corner, and all residents and families are encouraged to attend!

This special event, sponsored by the Gulf Coast Feline Foundation, the City of Deer Park and The International Cat Association (TICA) will feature up to 40 breeds of pedigreed cats, opportunities to adopt from three local shelters and much more.

Event dates are January 26-27, 2019 at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center, located at 500 W. 13th Street. Show hours will be 9:30AM – 4:30PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets as well as VIP passes are now available for purchase at

“We are so excited about this year’s Cat Show – the largest show in the region!” said Michelle Piatt with the Gulf Coast Feline Foundation. “This year, spectators will have the chance to watch cats compete in a live agility ring, enjoy concessions, take part in an awesome raffle, shop vendors and take part in family-friendly activities. Come support this event where a portion of our proceeds go back to regional animal shelters and rescues – we donate thousands of dollars each year and hope to continue that trend in 2019!”

As in previous years, the Cat Show will give attendees the chance to get up close and personal with fascinating breeds from around the world.

“Whether you’re a cat person or new to the ‘cat fancy,’ you’ll be fascinated to meet all of the beautiful breeds associated with the Gulf Coast Feline Foundation,” Piatt said. “Breeds at the show will include the Maine Coon, Sphynx, Devon Rex, Savannah, Bengal and more.

“As a new feature this year, we’re offering VIP passes to our attendees, which will allow them to experience the show in a whole new way. Each $30 VIP pass will come with 20 free raffle tickets, a 30-minute playtime session with a rescue cat, a shopping discount and more.”

Attendees who are ready to give a cat or kitten their forever home are also encouraged to adopt during the event. The Deer Park Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, the Pasadena Animal Shelter, and the La Porte Adoption Center and Animal Shelter will each be in attendance with loving animals in need of homes.

Adults $7, Children (6 to 12) / Seniors 65+ $5, Children (5 and under) FREE!  Weekend passes are available for Adults for $10 and children/seniors for $7.
