Deer Park City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a resolution to seek a FY2020 Select Traffic Enforcement Program Comprehensive Traffic Enforcement Grant.

The city will seek grant funds totaling $40,949 from the Texas Department of Transportation, with the city contributing $18,989, for a total program of $59,938, to fund traffic enforcement efforts.

The city council voted unanimously to seek FY2020 STEP Commercial Vehicle Traffic Enforcement Grant funds.

The city is seeking $11,948 in grant funds with a local match of $3,200.

The city council voted 3-4, with only Mayor Jerry Mouton, Thane Harrison and Bill Patterson voting in favor, to deny a motion to grant a request to rezone property at 825 Center Street from General Commercial to Multi-Family.

The city council voted unanimously to call for a joint public hearing for February 5 regarding a request from SLI Group, representing Magnum Enterprises, to rezone 202 East 13th Street from a Community Service to an Office Professional district for the proposed sale to Shell Federal Credit Union to construct an off-street accessory parking garage.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
