Jefferson County
Beaumont City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, January 15, 2019

Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to award a $499,926 contract to Chief Solutions, Inc. for the second phase of the sewer evaluation project.

The project includes the cleaning, televising, and evaluating of the city's sewer collection system to identify cost effective methods to rehabilitate defective manholes and mainlines.

The city council voted 6-1, with Mike Getz opposed, to authorize the city manager and the city's chief financial officer to register and participate in an online auction for the purchase of the former AT&T Call Center Building and property at 555 Main Street.

The city council voted unanimously to apply for and receive funding through the United States Department of Homeland Security's 2019 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program.

The city anticipates receiving approximately $40,000 through the program for assistance in enhancing and sustaining all-hazards emergency management capabilities.

The city council voted unanimously to approve amendments to the Industrial District Agreement with Air Liquide Large Industries U.S. and Natgasoline, LLC in relation to the language regarding abated property under construction.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
