Port of Orange Board of Commissioners

The Port of Orange Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to approve a tax abatement agreement for specific properties under the port's resolution as requested by the City of Vidor.

The abatement agreement included 20 properties.

The board voted to approve, with Carol Holt opposed, to approve port travel for the coming year for various functions, including Golden Triangle Days in Austin, the American Association of Port Authorities Commissioners Seminar in San Francisco, and the AAPA 108th Annual Convention in Norfolk, Virginia.

The board voted unanimously to authorize the port director to negotiate with the West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District for storage facilities at the port while rebuilding its school, as discussed in closed session.

The board took no action resulting from any other items discussed in closed session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Commissioner John Montaigne, Jr. was absent. Agenda
