The Tourism Bureau of St. Martinville, LA has announced the community's events calendar for the months of January-February.

January 20, 2019.  Martin Luther King Day Celebration.  Flag raising, music and presentations honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King.  St. Martinville Junior High. 3pm.  Sponsored by the African American Museum Board.  Call 337-394-2230 or e-mail stmchc@bellsouth.net for more info.   

January 22, 2019.  Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meeting.   Catered luncheon, guest speaker and business meeting.   Noon.  St. Martinville Branch Library, 201 Porter St., 337-394-2230 or stmchc@bellsouth.net to RSVP or for info.

January 26, 2019.  Vigilantes on the Bayou.    Re-enactors depict a violent era in the history of south Louisiana, in which American, Creole, and Acadian Landowners struggled against each other over ownership and usage of the land bordering the Bayou Teche.   Battle re-enactment, campsites, cooking demos and more.   Admission fee.  Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site.  337-394-3754.    

February 6, 2019.  Genealogy workshop.  Monthly workshop on different themes.  Topic to be announced.  Coffee and conversation at 9 am.   Program at 10am.  St. Martinville Branch Library, 201 Porter St.   Call 337-394-2258 or e-mail info@acadianmemorial.org for more info.   

February 8 and 9, 2019. Cornucopia Ball.  Annual Children’s Carnival sponsored by St. Martinville Creole Farmers’ Market.  2019 Theme is “Everything Country”.  Tickets for the dress rehearsal on the 8th are $10; $5 for children 12 and under.   Tickets for the 9th are $15.  Call 337-789-3592 for information. 

February 23, 2019, 73rd annual Rotary Club Mardi Gras Ball.  Formal Gala pageant and ball.  Theme is Night at the Opera.  Requires advanced ticket purchase from any Rotary Club member.   Cade Community Center.  1688 Smede Hwy, St. Martinville.    Call Michelle Broussard at 337-523-2472  for information.
