This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include "Something Rotten!" in Galveston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present “Something Rotten!” on Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Something Rotten! is the hilarious story of Nick and Nigel Bottom – two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play,” said a news release. “When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting – all at the same time – the brothers set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL!" News Release

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues with “The Carpenter” this week.

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through February 10.

Beaumont Community Players continues with their production of “Intimate Apparel” this week, with performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through February 2.

Main Street Theater continues with “The Secretary” this week.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through February 10.

Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay continues with “Verdict” this week.

Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through January 27.

Upcoming events include “Nightwatch”, opening February 1 at Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson, and “Mamma Mia!”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars in Houston and opening February 19.
