CCISD CARES HOSTING DISTRICT-WIDE FOOD DRIVE, JANUARY 28 – FEBRUARY 1

Food Collected at All Campuses to Benefit Furlough-Impacted Families

League City, Texas – In an effort to help fill the food gap for local government employees and public servants during the government shutdown, CCISD Cares is hosting a food drive at every CCISD campus the week of January 28. CCISD Cares is a 501(c)3 support organization formed to assist Clear Creek ISD families with basic needs during times of crisis.

DONATION COLLECTIONS:

Supporters may drop off donations at every Clear Creek ISD campus, or District support facility, January 28 through February 1 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

All donations will go to Interfaith Caring Ministries (ICM), a non-profit agency assisting those in need who live in Clear Creek ISD and Friendswood ISD. Reference “Food Donation Requests and Distribution” within this release for more information on the food request process.

For those who wish to make a monetary donation to CCISD Cares, visit www.ccisd.net/donate.

WHAT:         CCISD Cares Food Drive; Suggested items include canned goods, rice and pasta, peanut butter and jelly, and toiletries such as toilet paper, tooth paste, shampoo as well as baby diapers.

 WHEN:        Monday, January 28-Friday, February 1, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

WHERE:      All Clear Creek ISD Campuses and Support Facilities

WHO:           CCISD families, staff and the public are invited to contribute to the food drive at their neighborhood campus or CCISD support facility.

FOOD REQUESTS AND DISTRIBUTION:

For families in need of food, Interfaith Caring Ministries provides non-perishable and perishable food as well as toiletries and cleaning supplies. Families must call for an appointment for service.

WHO:             Families who live within the Clear Creek ISD or Friendswood ISD boundaries may seek support for food needs.

Additional food distribution locations include the Galveston County Food Bank, Houston Food Bank and local area faith-based food pantries. There are also several mobile food distribution sites within Clear Creek ISD boundaries.
