Texas State Representative District 145 Special Election

Christina Morales and Melissa Noriega will compete in a runoff election for State Representative District 145, after claiming the top two spots in an eight-candidate race in today's special election.

Morales claimed 35.78 percent of the ballot, while Noriega received 31.13 percent of the vote, neither receiving a clear majority. Other candidates in the race included Martha Elena Fierro Elias De La Garza, Oscar Del Toro, Clayton Hunt, Alfred Moreno and Ruben Dario Gonsalez. Unofficial Tabulation

The winner of the runoff will fill the vacancy left by Carol Alvarado, who left the seat after being elected to Texas State Senate District 6.
