Beaumont City Council

Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to authorize the city manager to apply for, and if awarded, accept funding through the 2019 Animal Friendly Grant.

The city will apply for $40,000 in funding through the grant to provide free spay or neutering services to pets of low-income Beaumont residents.

The city council voted to grant a specific use permit for the construction of a recreational vehicle resort at 6185 Fannett Road. The proposed resort will provide 66 pads, along with eight ADA compliant unisex showers, a playground and a dog yard. The office/club house will provide laundry facilities and a game room.

The permit was granted with conditions, including the all construction plans meet requirements by Water Utilities for water and sanitary sewer services, and that the driveway for the resort be approved by the Texas Department of Transportation.

The city council voted to grant a specific use permit to allow a brewpub at 2140 Calder Avenue.

The permit was granted on the condition that construction plans meet all requirements by Water Utilities.

The city council voted to grant a specific use permit to allow an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility at 950 Washington Boulevard. The permit was granted with the same condition regarding requirements by Water Utilities.
