Seabrook City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a resolution supporting state legislation that would amend the Texas Tax Code to authorize the city to utilize the collection of future hotel occupancy tax revenues for expanded economic development purposes.

The city council voted to approve approve, on first reading, an ordinance amending the city's Code of Ordinances regarding flooding and flood prevention by deleting a section concerning penalties for non-compliance.

The city council voted to adopt a resolution regarding Grand Parkway Section B.

The resolution calls for the Texas Department of Transportation to take any and all actions to complete its traffic revenue study, land acquisition, design and construction of the segment of State Highway 99, the Grand Parkway, through grandfathering and other appropriate actions that expedite the process.

Segment B is proposed to run from Interstate Highway 45 south to State Highway 288.

During the meeting, the city council discussed the FY2019 Strategic Plan.

The city council will consider appointments and reappointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment and the Charter Review Commission at its February 19 meeting.
