Wednesday, February 06, 2019

Webster City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to order an election for May 4 to elect three council members.

Larry Tosto, Beverly Gaines and Edward Lapeyre have terms expiring in May.

The city council voted unanimously to postpone a report regarding amendments to the Code of Ordinances regarding smoking. The item will be brought back for discussion and possible action on February 19.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an amended and restated cost sharing agreement with the City of Houston regarding the replacement of a 42-inch water line.

The amendment formalizes the planning and cost estimates for the project. Webster will pay an estimated $9,610,000 for its share of the $118 million project, which consists of more than 65,000 linear feet of water line. The project is expected to take 5 years to complete. The city will pay the initial amount of $1,872,814 with the approval of the agreement. The remaining $7.7 million will likely be paid through bonds issued in FY2021.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Mayor Donna Rogers and Council Member Jennifer Heidt were absent. Agenda
