Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of $5,645,000 in bonds by the Imperial Redevelopment District.

The bonds are part of a series authorized in 2011. A total of $30,335,000, including the proposed bonds, will have been issued. A total of $30,045,000 will remain outstanding after the issue. The bonds are paid by district property taxes.

Proceeds from the bonds will be used for construction costs for projects including clearing and grubbing of the South Bend area, the first phase of detention ponds/drainage facilities, water, sewer and drainage items associated with collector roads 1A, 1B, 2 and 3 and water and sewer improvements along the Imperial Bridge at Oyster Creek.

The city council voted to order an election for May 4 to elect four single member council districts.

District 1, 2, 3 and 4, currently held by Steve Porter, Bridget Yeung, Amy Mitchell and Carol McCutcheon, respectively, have terms expiring in May.

The city council voted to approve an airport hangar land lease with Sky Harbour, LLC for approximately 4.085 acres of land at the Sugar Land Regional Airport.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
