Galveston County Commissioners Court today voted 3-2, with Darrell Apffel and Joe Giusti opposed, to authorize the county’s legal counsel to pursue an appeal in a 2014 lawsuit brought against it by Probate Court Judge Kimberly Sullivan.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of a formal solicitation for the Bayshore and Gregory Park Pavilions.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a contract with Page Southerland Page, Inc. for pre-design services for building a new Road & Bridge facility.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a mowing tractor contract to Alvin Equipment, LLC.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to amend the adopted legislative agenda except for an item creating a countywide drainage district.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve the Galveston County Day at the Capitol legislative agenda.

The commissioners court deferred an item approving an amendment of a contract with The Goodman Corporation for the Pelican Island Bridge.

Earlier in the meeting, the commissioners court included the family of late Sheriff Joe Max Taylor in its invocation. Taylor, who served as sheriff from 1981 to the early 21st Century, passed away on Sunday.
