This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock & Roll” in Galveston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present “Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock & Roll” on Saturday at 8 p.m.

“With a magnificent cast consisting of stars from Broadway’s greatest rock musicals as well as many talented Rock & Roll singers, Neil Berg presents the often untold stories from this 50-year history of music that literally changed the world forever,” said a news release. “From the progenitors of Rock & Roll in the 40s, through the glory years of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, to the early 80s with MTV – this show highlights fascinating stories - as well as ground-breaking music – while paying tribute to some of the world’s best entertainers.” News Release

The Grand 1894 Opera House will also present the Galveston Symphony Orchestra in concert on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its production of “Quack” this week, with performances Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through March 10.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse continues “Nightwatch” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through February 24.

Main Street Theater in Houston wraps up its production of “The Secretary” with added performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Upcoming events include “Mamma Mia!” presented by Theatre Under the Stars and opening February 19 at the Hobby Center in Houston, and “Born Yesterday”, opening March 28 at College of the Mainland Community Theatre in Texas City.
