Butler’s Courtyard Hopes to Set Local Record in League City

League City’s Butler’s Courtyard, which was recently named to the “Best of Weddings Hall of Fame” by wedding-planning website The Knot, will perform 16 weddings on Thursday, February 14. The venue hopes to unofficially break the record for the largest number of weddings performed in a single day in League City.

“We had heard that a lot of people were putting off getting married or going to the Justice of the Peace due to the expense of a wedding and we thought it would be fun to create a special promotion on Valentine’s Day,” said Shawna Richards Erminger, co-owner of Butler’s Courtyard, which is located in League City’s Historic District.

For $100, each couple will be provided with an officiant, personal wedding cake, a professional photographer, and music by Davisi strings, a local string quartet, during a 15-minute ceremony.

According to co-owner Amber Richards Murphy, “to the best of my knowledge, this will be a single-day record for the number of weddings done at a single venue in League City. It’s definitely a record for Butler’s Courtyard.”

Unless a couple already has their marriage certificate, it’s too late to book a spot for a Valentine’s Day ceremony. However, there is still room for couples looking to renew their vows.
